The 2026–27 season will be the thirteenth season in Kerala Blasters FC's existence, as well as their thirteenth season in the Indian Super League. The season will begin in October 2026, with the club competing in the Indian Super League and Federation Cup.
This season marks the beginning of a new era for Kerala Blasters under new ownership, following the acquisition of the club by UAE-based Al Fursan Sports Investment from Magnum Sports Private Limited. Ashley Westwood continues as the club's head coach for the 2026–27 season.
Background
Kerala Blasters entered the 2026–27 season amid significant financial and organisational uncertainty. The club faced mounting financial losses following the disruption to the Indian Super League's commercial and broadcast revenues, while dissatisfaction among supporters with the management also grew. At one point, the club seriously considered shutting down operations. The uncertainty also affected the squad, with several players departing during the summer as the club's owners, Magnum Sports Private Limited, sought a new investor. The club also did not participate in the 2026 Durand Cup amid uncertainty surrounding its preparations for the new season.
In September 2026, Magnum Sports reached a definitive agreement to sell 100% of Kerala Blasters to UAE-based Al Fursan Sports Investment. The ownership transfer is being completed in phases during the 2026–27 season. Following the agreement, the club began rebuilding its squad ahead of the new campaign, while Ashley Westwood remained as head coach.
