The third edition of the Women's Decathlon World Championships was held in Oberlin, Ohio, on 8 and 9 August 2026. Australian Camryn Newton-Smith won the gold medal, with Noémie Desailly of France and defending champion Nikki Boon of the Netherlands winning the silver and bronze medals.

Background

The event was the third global women's decathlon championship. It was organized by Lauren Kuntz. It was the first time that a two-hour broadcast package was put together for the event on PlutoTV's All Women’s Sports Network, ending with a live showing of the 1500 metres final event.

The event was originally scheduled to be held at the Olympic training center in Geneva, Ohio, where the previous two championships were also held. However, one month before the event organizers were told they would have to find another venue due to the Patriot Games taking place at the same location. They relocated to Oberlin College's track in Oberlin, Ohio.

The field featured a number of debutantes, including French heptathlon champion Esther Condé-Turpin and Australian Olympian Camryn Newton-Smith. These athletes were contrasted with more experienced decathletes Noemie Desailly and Roseva Bidois of France. In addition, all of the 2025 event's medalists were returning to the 2026 edition. A group associated with the event created a phased transition plan for the women's decathlon to be included in a World Athletic-sanctioned World Championship in 2030 and at the 2032 Summer Olympics.

Schedule The women's decathlon took place over two consecutive days, with five events each day.
