In algebraic geometry, a Nori motive is a mixed motive constructed by Madhav Nori. Today, it is known that Nori's 1-motive coincides with that of Ayoub.Joseph Ayoub, Luca Barbieri-Viale, Nori 1-motives, arXiv:1206.5923 [math.AG]
The construction is based on Nori's basic lemma and his Tannakian theorem.§ 4.4.4., Bruno Kahn, Algebraic K-Theory, Algebraic Cycles and Arithmetic Geometry in Handbook of K-Theory.
