Angel of Sodom is a thrash metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band was founded in 2009 by Eero Tertsunen, who also performs in Renascent, and Michael Majalahti. The band released one studio album in 2015 and an EP in 2016. In 2016, Tertsunen moved to Bloomington, Indiana andthe band went on a hiatus.
History Eero Tertsunen on guitars and singer Michael Majalahti formed the band. Over the course of several years, they wrote and recorded the well-received album Divine Retribution. The album featured drummer Rolf Pilve of Stratovarius. Pilve was unable to commit to live performances, and Joonas Heikkinen replaced him.
Tertsunen had performed with Heikkinen in brutal death metal band Kremator in the early 2000s. Heikkinen later joined Tertsunen's band Renascent as the official drummer. In April 2, 2016, the band recorded the two-song EP Heavens Ablaze. In 2016, Tertsunen announced that he was moving to Bloomington, Indiana, and the band would no longer perform live. He returned for two final live shows in July that year, with Jonne Kytölä on bass. The band is inactive. Majalahti continued his wrestling career as "StarBuck", Tertsunen joined blackened death metal band Symphony of Heaven, and Heikkinen briefly performed with black metal band Temple of Perdition.
