Mahabhara is a village development committee in Jhapa District of Province No. 1 in southeastern Nepal. At the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 6,657 people living in 1,272 individual households. It consist of 9 Wards and there are different villages names in each ward. People of many cast and religion live there. Majority of people are Brahmin, chettri, adibasi, Rai, magar, limbu, satar etc. There were 9 wards in total but now it is a part of Gauriunj rural municipality (gaunpalika).
