Howardina albonotata is een muggensoort uit de familie van de steekmuggen (Culicidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1906 door Daniel William Coquillett. "New Culicidae from the West Indies and Central America." Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Washington vol. 7 (1905), blz. 183. (publicatiedatum: maart 1906) Oorspronkelijk plaatste Coquillett deze muggensoort in een nieuw geslacht Gymnometopa.
De soort komt voor in West-Indië; op de Bahama's is ze een algemeen voorkomende muggensoort. "Description of Aedes (Howardina) albonotatus (Coquillett), a common domestic mosquito from the Bahamas." Mosquito News, September 1965, blz. 339.
