Botyodes asialis is een vlinder uit de familie van de grasmotten (Crambidae), uit de onderfamilie van de Spilomelinae. De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld door Achille Guenée in een publicatie uit 1854.
De spanwijdte varieert van 45 tot 50 millimeter.
Verspreiding De soort komt voor in het Afrotropisch gebied (Mali, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Kameroen, São Tomé, Equatoriaal Guinee, Congo-Kinshasa, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zuid-Afrika, Madagaskar, Réunion), het Oriëntaals gebied (India, Nepal, Bhutan (2016).
